Ideally, every meal should have proteins, vitamins and starch to be balanced. Proteins are also recommended to people who want to lose weight to prevent injuries and replace fat with muscles. All types of fish are high in the good proteins. The amount of protein versus calories is of course dependent on what kind of fish one eats but generally sea food is great for your health as a bonus, fish and other sea foods also have omega oil which is great for immunity. All types of fish have between 20 and 26 grams of protein per 100 grams.

Nuts are very rich in proteins. The best thing about nuts is that they can be eaten as snacks and one can carry them around to munch anytime. They are also great for vegetarians who need an alternative source of protein. However, intake of nuts should be kept low because they have more fat than proteins. Seeds high in protein include almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and flaxseeds. There are 33 grams of protein per 100 gram of nuts.

They are great sources of protein among other good nutrients like calcium but their calorie level is also high so they shouldn’t be eaten sparingly. Eggs have 13 grams while other dairy products have 6 grams per every 100 grams.

Meat has more protein than most of the other sources. However, one should focus on eating lean meat to avoid animal fat found in cows, pigs and goats. Meat is great because it can be incorporated in every meal with other foods. However, because of other health issues, one should eat a little well cooked meat daily and not a lot at once.

In this category, chicken meat is also added as the safer option because chicken has less fat than cattle and pigs plus there are many fun ways to cook chicken. Meat is said to have between 25 to 35 grams of proteins per 100 grams serving.

5. Legumes

Perhaps the most affordable and versatile source of good protein is beans. All types of beans and green grams are good for your health because they are fat free. Tofu and tempeh are also included here as soy based substitutes. Beans have 17percent proteins which is fat free.
